| Description: The tradition of Hola Mohalla started by Guru Gobind Singh in 1680 was to encourage Sikhs to hone their martial Sikhs and remain active in their physical and mental form so as to fight any wrong whatsoever against their fellow citizens. Today, as in the old times,the mock battles enacted by the Nihangs on the play fields of Charan Ganga, are a rare example of traditions being carried forward not only by name, but also in the spirit originally intended. |
