The Red Carpet at the Sikhlens: Sikh Arts & Film Festival is at The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana. The festival opens Friday, November 20. Sumita Batra and Preetmohan "Preet" Singh Sabharwal host the evening and welcome the audience.
Dress code: Indian formal Maharaja and Maharani attire, Western formal, or dress to impress.

Red Carpet host, Theater 1: Preetmohan "Preet" Singh Sabharwal
Preetmohan "Preet" Singh serves as Chief Strategy Officer for Sikhlens. He previously worked at the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund and the Interfaith Alliance in Washington, DC.
Preetmohan co-produced PBS' "A Dream in Doubt," a nationally televised, award-winning one-hour documentary film about the post-9/11 murder of Balbir Singh Sodhi. He also produced "The Sikh Next Door," a multimedia educational curriculum celebrating diversity in America's classrooms.
Preetmohan is a graduate of Georgetown University, where his senior thesis in the American Studies department was titled, "Rag-heads, Hindoos, and Nonwhite Caucasians: Sikh American Racialization and Exclusion, 1897-1924." As an undergraduate, he won the University's Durkin Prize as the outstanding student in his department. Preetmohan spent his entire junior year abroad studying American and colonial history at the University of Oxford in England. He is on leave from the MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Honey Trehan
Honey Trehan was born on October 4, 1978 in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India. He is a casting director and assistant director, known for Raat Akeli Hai (2020), Delhi Belly (2011) and Talvar (2015).
Sukhman Dhami
Sukhman Dhami is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Ensaaf. This human rights organization works to end impunity and achieve justice for crimes against humanity in India, focusing on Panjab.
Sukhman received the 2004 Unity Award from the San Francisco Coalition of Minority Bars and South Asian Bar Association for his outstanding service to the legal community. He received a two-year fellowship through the Ford Foundation to work with the Center for Justice & Accountability and is a 2006 Echoing Green Global Fellow.
Sukhman has published several articles and reports on human rights in India with The Hill, Christian Science Monitor, Human Rights Watch, and The Public International Law & Policy Group, where he also serves on the Advisory Board. He earned his J.D. and M.A. from the American University.

Satluj is a biographical drama based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Set against the Punjab insurgency of the early 1990s, the film follows Khalra's courageous investigation into the enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings carried out by Punjab Police, and the personal cost of his fight for truth and justice.
