Racist graffiti replaced the words 'Make Love' with 'Make bombs' on a Gap subway poster featuring Brooklyn designer Waris Ahluwalia. Gap reacted by placing Ahluwalia front and center on its Twitter and Facebook profiles. As a Sikh and an Artist it was essential for me to put into imagery what I thought of this whole scenario.

The turban serves and forever continues to be beautiful and symbolic and so I chose to have beautiful flowers glowing and growing around this. The concept was to show Turbans being just as beautiful as new blooming flowers, bright and colorful, refreshing wherever they may go. It was recognized by Gap and serves as a milestone in my career.
