Skardu Gurdwara was built in the centre of Skardu town in the region of Baltistan, where Guru Nanak visited on his return from Mansarovar and Kailash mountains in Tibet. Before partition a significant number of Sikhs resided in Skardu. Till date, the market behind the gurdwara is known as Sikh Maidan, where the Hindus and Sikhs once owned retail shops.
