Earning an honest living and contributing to the betterment of society through hard work and a positive outlook are pillars of the Sikh way of life. Wherever they have settled in the world, Sikhs have excelled in every profession and field of work. This is represented in our artwork 'A Sikh Celebration' which depicts Sikhs past and present dining together within a cityscape representing different places across the globe where they have made their mark. We ourselves appear amongst the diners to represent the arts. Seated between us is our father who taught us to "aim high" and to "strive to be the best you can be, even if it means sometimes failing".

With the 'can do' attitude that he adopted throughout his own life, he overcame many obstacles and achieved remarkable things - setting the example for us to follow and empowering us with the confidence to drive towards excellence in our chosen career as artists. His inclusion in the artwork not only acknowledges him as the source of our success but also pays tribute to a generation of elders whose hard work, sacrifice, courage, determination and self-belief enabled them not only to succeed in their own lives often against the odds, but to pave the way for a better life for future generations such as ourselves and make it possible for us to follow our dreams.
