Guru Nanak questioned formal rituals, including ‘aarti’ at certain fixed times of the day, when the whole cosmos is at every moment singing hymns of joy in gratitude to and in praise of the Creator. The forests waving in the breeze like ‘chavar’, the sun and moon like lamps in the vast round plate of the sky. All living things mirror His beauty, the birds, flowers, trees and flowing waters.

Guru Nanak’s hymns are full of the beauty of Nature and Seasons, which mirror the supreme beauty of the Creator.
