With growing confidence and pride, Sikhs in Canada have established organizations, such as the Sikh Foundation Canada (established in 1997 to mark the centenary of Sikhs in Canada), which celebrate major Sikh milestones and events.

Gala evenings and annual award ceremonies honoring not only Sikh achievers and role models in all walks of life from around the globe, but also, recognizing non-Sikhs who have demonstrated excellence according to Sikh values, have become an important part of the Canadian Sikh social and religious festival calendar.

Whilst other Canadian initiatives, including web sites like Sikhchic.com and sikhs.org (said to be the first ever dedicated Sikh web site) continue to connect the global community, preserve its heritage, educate others about Sikhism and showcase Sikhs on the world stage.
