Vaisakhi which historically signals the spring harvest in the Indian subcontinent, has a special significance for the Sikh community. The tenth Sikh Guru - Guru Gobind Singh Ji formally established the Khalsa Panth, community of Sikhs and publicly entrusted it with communal leadership.
