The Regal Sikh: Scriptures and Identity

The Sikh turban is a visible marker of Sikh identity and commitment to the teachings of Sikhism. It signifies dedication to the values of equality, justice, and courage as taught by the Sikh Gurus. This artwork is a narrative of the divine scriptures from the Guru Granth Saahib which are treated with utmost reverence. The turban is adorned with scriptures which integrate with the jewelry and the garb, and commands respect in society, reminding the wearer to live honorably. It is seen as a responsibility to uphold Sikh values such as honesty, compassion, and service to humanity (Seva).
