Jasmeet Kaur
The 2027 Sikhlens Calendar is The Art of Jasmeet Kaur. She is a San Antonio artist with a master's in Textile Design and Development from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi. After years in interior design, she started Kaur Competency LLC in 2015 and launched her studio, Baani Art, in 2017. The paintings are inspired by nature, spirituality, and what is happening in the world.
She has shown with Sikhlens in San Francisco, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Antonio, Vancouver, and the UK. In 2024 she was a finalist in Ebb & Flow, an international art competition. She is a Member at Large of the San Antonio Art League and Museum and serves on a committee at the San Antonio Museum of Art. She lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and two sons.
The work explores silhouettes and abstractions that grow out of the subject. She uses oils, acrylics, gouache, foil, and pen on fabric, canvas, and wood. Her site is baaniart.com.
