Introduction

Jasmeet Kaur is a San Antonio based artist. She received a Master's in Textile Design and Development from The National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi, India. She worked for several years in the field of interior design and, in 2015, started her own company Kaur Competency LLC working with residential homes, boutique hotels, and offices. She launched an art studio, Baani Art, in 2017 inspired by nature, spirituality, and current global situations that are expressed in vibrant colors and mediums. She qualified as a finalist in an international art competition, Ebb & Flow (2024).

She is now a registered artist in the city of San Antonio and has had her works featured in several publications. She is a Member at Large of the San Antonio Art League and Museum and serves on a committee at the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA). She lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and two sons.

Her work explores silhouettes and abstractions that flow organically from the subject. Her creative process weaves oils, acrylics, gouache, foil, pen across fabrics, canvas, and wood to produce abstract narratives, stylized landscapes and holistic art.
