The Sikh Soldier: Then and Now
Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, established the Khalsa in 1699, a collective body of initiated Sikhs committed to upholding righteousness and defending the oppressed. Sikh soldiers have earned a distinguished reputation for their bravery, loyalty, and martial prowess throughout history, making profound contributions to military forces around the world. Historically, Sikh soldiers distinguished themselves in many battles and wars, often under the British Indian Army during the 19th and 20th centuries. Their courage was not just physical but also moral, standing firm in the face of overwhelming odds. This artwork is a homage to their services from the Guru's leadership to current times.
