At its heart, Langar, a communal meal embodies the spirit of dignity and compassion. It serves as a practical expression of the Sikh commitment to equality and selfless service. Everyone sits together on the floor, sharing the same simple meal, symbolizing the breaking down of social barriers and fostering unity. It is prepared and served entirely by volunteers. Beyond the spiritual and social dimensions, Sikh Langar now has a significant humanitarian impact worldwide. Volunteers provide nourishment to millions daily, including the homeless, refugees, and those in crisis, demonstrating a living model of compassion in action.
