Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism was the first Sikh Guru. He preached truth, love, compassion, service and humility. His teachings emphasized that "Truth Is High But Yet Higher Is Truthful Living". He stood up for social reform and gender equality and led a tirade against superstition.
