Introduction

Preserving the Past, Inspiring the Future. Since its inception, the Anglo Sikh Heritage Trail has been acknowledged as a groundbreaking initiative that has educated and empowered the community to aspire to new levels of awareness and knowledge about its own history and relationship with Britain.

2008 was another packed year. Highlights included Sons of the Soil, Lions of the Khalsa; Memories Beyond the Grave, the discovery of a small marble stone which had lain untouched beneath the catacombs of the old Kensal Green Dissenters Chapel, commemorating Maharani Jind Kaur; and Journeys Through History, including Windsor Castle, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and the Tower of London.

The ground breaking first official Sikh Heritage Tour of the UK by tourists took place in July 2008 and represented collaboration between the Maharajah Duleep Singh Centenary Trust, Anglo Sikh Heritage, and the California-based Sikhpoint.com.
