Tilla Jogiyan, at 3200 feet above sea level is the highest peak of the salt range, clearly visible from the Rohtas Fort. Guru Nanak visited Tilla Jogiyan to have a dialogue with the Jogis, regarding the path to spirituality. He conveyed the importance of leading a spiritual life as a householder over absolute worldly renunciation.

This conversation is included in the Guru Granth Sahib as the Sidh Ghosth. At a short distance from the Rohtas Fort, one can see the abandoned remains of the Gurdwara Chowa Guru Nanak. This gurdwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1834 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak, who had rested at the Chowa, a water spring, on his return from Tilla Jogiyan.

At one time the 27 acres of land attached to this gurdwara would host people of all faiths to celebrate Vaisakhi, the cultural harvest festival of Punjab.
